Mobile phlebotomists in the FirstCare network complete home visits and facility rounds on authorized orders, following the receiving laboratory's protocols, with specimen transport linked to every visit.
The work
Home visits
Scheduled and homebound patient draws with the authorized order, access notes and preparation instructions in the app.
Facility rounds
Recurring rounds at skilled nursing, rehab, assisted living and hospice partners, coordinated with nursing leadership.
Collection record
Identification and consent per protocol, collection time, labeling and any unsuccessful-visit reason recorded on the visit.
Linked transport
Hand off to a courier with a scanned custody transfer, or deliver directly when assigned and qualified.
Collection equipment
Phlebotomy kit
Approved collection supplies, sharps container, PPE and specimen bags, ordered through the kit program or verified if you already own them.
Transport container
Insulated container and temperature packs for the specimens you collect.
Centrifuge only where required
A centrifuge is required only for assignments whose receiving laboratory protocol calls for processing before transport. It is not part of the standard kit.
Smartphone
A current iOS or Android phone for the FirstCare app.
Qualifications
- Phlebotomy training certificate, with certification (ASCP, NHA or equivalent) where the assignment or state requires it
- Documented venipuncture experience
- Current CPR/BLS and immunization records as required by partner facilities
- Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass background screening
- Reliable transportation to reach patients and facilities in your service area
Coverage
Launch territories are statewide New Jersey, all five New York City boroughs, and Philadelphia and nearby counties. Visit volume depends on partner demand in your area; we do not guarantee volume or earnings.
